Ideal MetalWorks, formerly Ideal Railing Co. of Michigan City, IN has been a custom metal fabricator since 1949.

Our team has the most fabricating experience of anyone in the area – by far:

Larry Kelley, CEO emeritus and former sheet metal worker, has been building railing and stair systems for over 50 years.

Dave Tucker, head fabricator and master craftsman, has been building custom metal projects for over 30 years.

Eric Thompson joined our team in 2010. He is extremely creative and motivated. He is our "jack of all trades" and handles everything from fabrication, painting to installations.

This team, with over 100 years combined experience in railing and stair systems, can help you design a system that will enhance the beauty of your home, withstand the difficult weather in our area, and provide the security for your home that you desire.

We are absolutely dedicated to making life easier for our customers. We can’t stand automated operators or voice mail. You will talk to a human the same day you call. When you call us for an appointment we will give you an exact time when we will be at your home or business to measure and help you determine the proper product to meet your needs. No need to wait around for hours for us to show up. We will provide you with a quote within 2 business days from the time we meet with you at your home or business. We will provide you with a delivery and installation time and keep it. We are a family owned and operated business, we are responsive to our customers and stand behind our work.
